Luke 10:29 “But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, ‘And who is my neighbor?’”
The lawyer in today’s text has just answered Jesus’s question about what is written in the law about eternal life. Yet, he does not seem to understand who his neighbor is. Jesus goes on to clarify in this “Parable of the Good Samaritan” and that same question seems to be before us in today’s modern world.
What We Should Know
There’s an old children’s song that says “Red and yellow black and white, they are blessed in His sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world.” Well, the children all grow up and they are still blessed in His sight as adults. We should recognize, accept and love all, regardless of race, creed, ideology or culture, as our brothers and sisters in Christ. We were all created in His image.
