There’s Still Room At The Table

Luke 14:12-24

Have you ever received an invitation that you simply couldn't turn down? Perhaps it was an invitation to a wedding, a special celebration, or a gathering with family and friends. There is something wonderful about being invited, about knowing that someone has thought of you, made room for you, and wants you to be part of something special.

In Luke 14:12–24, Jesus tells the Parable of the Great Banquet, reminding us that God's Kingdom is an invitation extended to all people. The remarkable thing about this invitation is that it is not based on our accomplishments, our social standing, or even our worthiness. It is an invitation rooted entirely in the extravagant grace of God.

Yet, as Jesus reminds us, not everyone accepts this invitation. Sometimes we become so consumed with the busyness and priorities of this world that we overlook the greatest invitation we will ever receive.

This Sunday, as we celebrate All Saints Day and remember those who have gone before us in faith, we are reminded of the glorious promise of God's eternal Kingdom. The invitation has been extended, the banquet has been prepared, and by God's grace, there is still room at the table.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Margaret
