“Beyond The Ninety-Nine”

Luke 15:1-7

Have you ever stopped to consider just how far God is willing to go to bring one lost person home? In the Parable of the Lost Sheep, Jesus tells us about a shepherd who leaves ninety-nine sheep behind to search for the one that has wandered away. To some, that might seem foolish. Why risk so much for just one? But that's precisely the beauty of God's grace. In the Kingdom of God, no one is insignificant, no one is forgotten, and no one is beyond the reach of His love.

This parable reminds us that God's heart is not simply concerned with those who are already safely gathered in the fold, but also with those who are still wandering. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to share that same heart. The Church cannot become so comfortable caring for the ninety-nine that we forget about the one who is still missing.

So, let me ask you: Who is your one more? Who is that one person in your life who needs to hear the saving words of the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Perhaps it's a family member, a friend, a coworker, or a neighbor. Whoever it may be, I encourage you to begin praying for them by name and looking for opportunities to share the love and grace of Jesus Christ with them. Because behind every number is a name, behind every name is a story, and every single soul matters to God. May we be a church that never stops reaching beyond the ninety-nine, because there is always room for one more!
