Phil 2:4-54 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interest of others. 5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus

Next Sunday we will observe as the Day of Pentecost, the day when the Holy Spirit came down upon all      believers. That was the one day in our Christian faith when all believers were one in spirit and truly fulfilled the charge which the apostle Paul delivers in today’s Scripture lesson. All were in one accord with the mind of Christ. That charge lives on today but we have wandered away from the needs of others and focused our attention on our own.

What We Should Know

Jesus was adamant as He preached of unity and empathy in His sermon on the mount. He said it plainly about service to others in Matthew 25:40 “As you have done to one of the least of these, you have done it to Me.”  We can achieve so much more as a group (a church family) than we can as individuals and that comes only through a unified heart and actions.
