I Corinthians 12:27 “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”

Paul has described the Body of Christ in likeness to the human body, made up of hands, ears feet, eyes, nose, etc. He emphasized the equality of need for each part for the body to function overall. Verse 25 says “there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other.” 

What We Should Know

We are all equally important parts of the Body of Christ. Consequently, our failure to function accordingly affects the whole. We should seek our spiritual gifts and use them to the best of our ability. We should learn from our failures and celebrate our successes as we work together to build God’s Church.
