John 15:4  “Remain in Me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.”

Jesus has just explained that He is the vine and God is the gardener. He further states that God cuts off every branch that bears no fruit while He prunes every branch that does bear fruit so that it will be even more fruitful. Sometimes we tend to be overwhelmed by the beauty of the sanctuary. When I enter our sanctuary I am awed at its beauty and I am equally awed when I drive by and see the beautiful architecture. We are truly blessed with a facility the presence of which honors God.

What We Should Know

Sometimes we need to be reminded that the architecture and the stained glass and the beautiful organ are not what make this place holy. It is the spirit of those who enter it which reveals the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus encourages us to remain in Him and by doing so we can bear fruit by sharing His Gospel and growing His church. We had a blessed Easter celebration this year. Let us hold on to that spirit and continue to praise Jesus’ fulfillment of eternal life through faith in Him.
