Acts 27:25-26 “ 25.So, keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as He told me. 26. Nevertheless, we must run aground on some island.”

Paul is on a prison ship, along with 275 others, in route to Rome for his trial. God sent an angel to Paul instructing him to keep the others from abandoning ship with the promise that they would all survive. They were caught up in a terrible storm and, consequently, shipwrecked on the island of Malta. After three months of recovery, they put out to sea in a ship which had weathered the storm and landed in Rome where they were arrested. Unable to secure enough evidence to try him, Paul was allowed to live by himself with a guard to watch over him for two years.

What We Should Know

Paul took advantage of his imprisonment to preach to the Jews as they sought a legitimate reason to punish him further. They found none and he was allowed freedom to remain and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Throughout his near-death experience, Paul remained true to his faith and obeyed the commands of the angel saving 276 lives and bringing the Good News of Jesus to a new people.
