Malachi 3:10 “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house.”

God is speaking here to the descendants of Jacob who have lost sight of the responsibility of their heritage. God came to Jacob in a dream in Genesis 28 and Jacob not only dedicated that place to God but he also vowed to give God a tenth of everything He gave him. Moses also declared that the Israelites would set aside a tithe in support of the Levite priests. Thus, the concept of the tithe was established as a means of supporting God’s Church.

What We Should Know

Jacob’s descendants in Malachi have let God down and declares that they have robbed Him of tithes and offerings. We are guilty of the same today and we need to be reminded of our responsibility to “God’s House.” God’s work must be financed, and we are His only source. Let’s not let Him down.
