Luke 2:49-50 “49. Why were you searching for Me, He asked. Didn’t you know I had to be in My Father’s house? 50. But they did not understand what He was saying to them.”

One of the great mysteries of life is that of God’s call. It begins as children when we are asked “What do you want to be when you grow up?” From that point on, we begin to picture ourselves in different environments and doing different things with our lives without even a consideration of  Christian service; not even on a part-time voluntary basis because our minds are pulled in so many different career directions at one time.

What We Should Know

Within all of the career opportunities which exist within us, God’s will is always present even though we are not necessarily conscious  of it and it tends to remain dormant until we bring it to our consciousness. As John opened his heart to God’s will, so should we with every decision we make. Let this Christmas season be a new beginning for each of us as we seek direction for the new year ahead. We should always ask ourselves….what would Jesus do?
