Luke 23:42,43 “42. Then he said, ‘Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.’ Jesus answered him, ‘Truly I tell you, today you will be with Me in paradise.’”

As Jesus hung on the cross with two other prisoners (one on either side of Him), one of the prisoners rebuked Him and challenged His lordship. The other asked that He remember him when He (Jesus) comes into His kingdom. Jesus assured him that TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise.

What We Should Know

The thief on the cross who called out to Jesus for mercy went down into paradise with Jesus the moment they both died. There, they retrieved the souls who were waiting for Him, for Jesus said in John 14:6 “No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Then, in three days, Jesus went up to heaven as did all of those souls in paradise who accepted Him. John 14:6 still holds true today. There is only one way to heaven and it is through Jesus
