Be the Hands & Feet of Jesus
If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you. John 13:14-15
By Jesus' example, a big part of Christian life is to serve others. There are so many needs in the world that we can help fulfill and First Church has chosen a few to champion (Check out our Cuba, Adopt-a-School, and Family Promise ministries). But there are also the small, every day acts that can change an individual's day and we encourage everyone to show God's love in those small acts of kindness as well.
Congregational Care
The Congregational Care team seeks to keep the church connected to members who are homebound, shut-in, in long-term care facilities or otherwise unable to participate regularly in the life of the church. Every two months the group visits the homebound and delivers the current copy of the Upper Room devotional and communion elements blessed by Pastor Stephen.
This group also provides meals and emotional support to those who have lost a loved one, or are recovering from a recent hospital sta

Card Sharps
This subgroup of Congregational Care meets every Thursday (September through May) at 9:30 to create beautiful birthday, sympathy, and other cards for members of the congregation. No craft skills are needed! Contact Pat Traggiai for more information at 719-237-6635.
Prayer Group
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6:18
We know that God hears our prayers and He wants us to pray for others. With that in mind, we have two ways to learn of others' needs. One is to meet with others each week on Wednesdays at 9:30AM to pray as a group for our congregation, friends, family, our country and the world. For more information or questions, please contact Pastor Dennis at 813-205-3251.

We are blessed with a very generous congregation. If you are facing financial difficulties, we can help. If you are led by God to contribute to the Jericho Road Fund, we welcome your donation. All requests are handled by Pastor Stephen in a caring and confidential manner.
