Children's Ministries
Jesus speaks about and interacts with children throughout the Gospels. Perhaps the most familiar passage is in Matthew 19:13-15 in which Jesus says, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Jesus even teaches in Matthew 18:3 that each of us adults must become like a child – that is, have a heart that is eager to hear and share His message – in order to enter the kingdom of Heaven! These teachings are the foundation for Children’s Ministry at First United Methodist Church.
Our Children’s Ministry has three parts: Children’s Church every Sunday morning during the 9 AM Contemporary Worship Service; Creation Station at 10:10 AM every Sunday morning; and special events, throughout the year, some annual and others added as God leads us! This ministry is dedicated to helping children know how much God, who created each one of them uniquely, loves them. In partnership with parents, grandparents, and other guardians, we teach age-appropriate biblical lessons that help children grow in their knowledge of and love for Jesus and in how to live the way Jesus wants us to. Our teachers first have a calling to work with children, and they are trained and experienced to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with enthusiasm!
CHILDREN'S CHURCH - SUNDAYS AT 9AM
Children’s Church is organized by units of study, and each Sunday’s plan includes prayer together, a Bible story from the Old or New Testament, music, and a craft. Often, we sing with our amazing family of “personality plus” Puppets! Children’s Church is fun, and the fellowship and worship help to prepare the children to live their faith in the world!
CREATION STATION - SUNDAYS AT 10:10 AM
Following Children’s Church, children whose parents participate in adult Sunday School may take part in Creation Station, an extended learning opportunity featuring crafts, games, and recreation.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Throughout the year, we offer special events for children and families, such as movie nights, Christmas play, fall festival, and Breakfast with Santa. Stay connected through our Events page!
