Acts 12:6-76. The night before Herod was to bring him to trial,  Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains,  and sentries stood guard at the entrance. 7.  Suddenly an angel  of the Lord appeared, and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter  on the side and woke him up. ‘Quick get up !’ he said, and the         chains fell off Peter’s wrists.’”

Peter is fast asleep and physically unaware of what is going on. While  he responds to the angel’s instructions, he gets up, gets dressed and  flees the scene. It is not until he finds himself alone on the street that he realizes that what just happened was not a dream but God’s angel sent in answer to prayers.

    What We Should Know

I wonder how many times we have had good things happen to us and  failed to realize that it was answered prayers. How many times have our hopes been fulfilled and we felt just lucky instead of grateful. We tend to be spiritually unconscious in our daily lives and can easily mistake an  answered prayer as a lucky break.
