Acts 3:6 “Then Peter said, ‘Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.’”

Peter and John were on their way to the Temple for worship when they encountered the crippled beggar at the gate. Peter had no money, but he did have the power of the Holy Spirit and he used it as he ordered the beggar to get up and walk.

What We Should Know

Peter was aware of his spiritual gift, (empowerment by the Holy Spirit) so he used it. God empowered him to heal for the purpose of relieving the suffering of others and Peter did just that. We also have spiritual gifts and God’s purpose is for us to use them in whatever way we can to bring comfort to others. We should be aware of our spiritual gifts and let them not go to waste. We should know our strengths and give them to God. Maybe we can’t heal, but we can bring comfort and peace of mind.
