Unstoppable Gospel

What an adventure we have been on through the Book of Acts! We have finally come to the close of the book this Sunday and we find the apostle Paul in the city of Rome, who is confined, watched, and seemingly limited in every way. Yet, the final words of the chapter and book tell a different story: “[He proclaimed] the kingdom of God and [taught] about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hindrance” (Acts 28:31).

What a powerful reminder that the mission of Jesus does not stop when circumstances get difficult. God’s grace has never depended on ideal conditions. Even in adversity and uncertainty, the Gospel continues to move forward, and the beautiful truth is that God invites us to be part of that ongoing mission. The same Spirit who strengthened Paul in his confinement strengthens us in our challenges today.

As we get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving, let us pause to give thanks for the ways God has carried us, shaped us, and used us, sometimes in ways we could not see at the time. And as we enter the season of Advent, we remember that the hope of Christ still breaks into our world, lighting the darkness and calling us to join His mission of love, grace, and restoration.

May we be a people who, like Paul, proclaim Christ boldly and trust that God’s work will continue unhindered through us. May gratitude fill our hearts and may Advent hope guide our steps.
