God Designed Us to be a part of a community

God never intended for us to live the Christian life alone. In Genesis 2:18, God said "It is not good for the man to be alone." Jesus called disciples to him. His disciples called others to Jesus.  The early church consisted of a community of believers who loved God and loved one another.

Small groups are groups of like-minded people who want to grow in their spiritual journey. Groups can be very small... two or three people... or really big... 25 or more. They may meet regularly at the church,  in someone's home, or at a local restaurant.  The possibilities are endless. Each group is as unique as its members.

Typical small group activities include Bible study, local mission work, meals, game nights, and other social activities. If you are new to the church, or if you want to further connect with our church community, give a small group a try.  Contact the church office for further information.

Grief Share

Coordinators: Pastor Dennis and Jerry Jackson.  Navigating the complex process of grief can be overwhelming and isolating.  GriefShare support groups are designed to be a place to learn healthy ways of coping with grief in order to lead you to relief, comfort, and peace of mind.  New session beginning September 4, 2025, Thursday evenings, 6-8 PM.

Band of Brothers Men's Group

Coordinator: Ed Castleberry. This group meets the first Saturday of the month at 8am at the Wesley Centre.  In addition to group study focusing on issues relating to men, they have a Helping Hands Ministry which provides assistance to our members with minor repairs.

Open Door

Coordinator: Julie Winter. Meets on the second and fourth Thursdays, September through May, at 7pm for snacks and study, generally videos and discussion. Meets in the Open Door room in the Educational Building.

Servant's Servants

Coordinator: Jerry Jackson. Meets 2nd & 4th Sundays at 6 PM in the Education Building, Good News Room, for snacks and study.  This multi-generational group is focused on helping people grow their Christian faith in confidence to serve and share the love of God in their everyday lives.  Studies are Bible-based and challenging. The group also gathers for a quarterly game night pot luck at one of the member's homes.

Small Small World

Coordinator: Rick Norman.  Meets twice a month on Thursdays, 6pm for potluck dinner, 7pm for study on the 1st floor of the Education Building (Room 121).  The group explores various Bible video series by well-known authors. Food and fellowship are very important to this group!  

SEEDS (Sisters Encouraging & Enjoying Discipleship Study)

Approximately 15 women (ages 30 - 70+) meet in person or via Zoom. Some meet before the study at local restaurants for lunch and fellowship.

Daughters of Discipleship

New. Vital. Purposeful.  A new women’s ministry that focuses on engaging women of all generations.  Our special emphasis is on women; our eyes are on God.  All women are welcome!   We meet the second Tuesday of every month at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., from September through May.  Please Contact: Debbie Kaczmarek or Suzanne Wicker for more details.

United Women In Faith

Coordinator: Ginny Roebuck.  Formerly United Methodist Women, this ministry is rich in a history of working for justice through compassionate service and advocacy to change unfair policies and systems that harm women, children and youth.  The group meets monthly, September - May, details on the church calendar.

Faithful Servants

Coordinator: Connie Beaty. Meets the first Tuesday of the month at 5:30PM. Bible study, food, and fellowship.

Scrapbooking Ministry

Coordinator: Jackie Peterson. Sharing a love for preserving memories through scrapbooking which is centered around Christian fellowship. Meets four times a year: January- March-June-September. Age Demographic: 15 years and older. Group size: 20 maximum. Location is on the 3rd floor of the traditional building.  This group helps fund the ministries of the Daughters of Discipleship. 

Fellowship of Readers

Coordinator:  Suzannee Wicker.  A Christian women's book club that meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 11:15AM. 

Young at Heart

Coordinator: Barbara Carver.  This age 50+ group meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month, September through May, at 11AM for lunch and a program. The cost is $6. 

Sew Blessed Crafters

Our newest ministry, lead by Shirley Erwin, is for anyone who sews, quilts, crochets, knits or enjoys any other kind of craft. Work on your projects in the company of others, learn new crafts, or get help and encouragement from others. This group meets weekly on Wednesdays anytime between 9AM and 2PM in the Education Building. Come when you can, leave when you need to.
