Devotion June 19
By: Pastor Dennis
1 Thessalonians 1:2-3 “2. We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. 3. We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.”
In spite of continued challenges on Paul wherever he preached, his sincere concern for the church at Thessalonica remained strong. Wherever Paul went he was challenged by those who still could not accept his conversion by Jesus. The dreaded “Saul of Tarsus” is now Paul the apostle to the Gentiles. Thus, he endures ridicule, torcher and imprisonment over and over again for Jesus’ sake.
What We Should Know
We too face a world of ideological challenges which are contrary to our faith and many people out of sheer ignorance fall for them. We don’t have to fear for our lives in the process as Paul did. Let us be strong in our faith and our knowledge and go forward through our witness and our will. May the faith of Paul always be a part of us.
