Pastor’s Note: Mother’s Day
This upcoming Sunday, we are going to celebrate Mother’s Day as a church family. We give thanks to God for the gifts of mothers, for those who raised us, nurtured us, prayed for us, and loved us in countless ways. Whether biological, adoptive, spiritual, or motherly in heart, we honor you and the powerful role you play in shaping lives and faith.
In the same breath, I want to recognize that Mother’s Day can be a hard and even painful day for many people. Some are grieving mothers who are no longer with us. Others carry the ache of broken relationships, infertility, loss, or longing. Please know this: you are not alone. The God who sees and understands every tear and every joy walks with you today.
May we be a church that celebrates with those who rejoice and holds space for those who mourn and may the love of Christ surround every heart this Mother’s Day.
Come join us in church this Sunday as we continue with our new sermon series, “Heroes.” We will be studying an incredible woman of faith who led with courage to match her convictions. Esther answered God’s call “for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14) and was willing to stand up, to stand alone, and to do something about the evil scheme to murder the Jews in ancient Persia.
You see, one person can have such a significant impact on the world, and one is always a valuable number to God. God can use one person to do unimaginable miracles, like save an entire nation and even rescue the whole world. Friends, may you feel empowered by the Holy Spirit of God to go make a difference in this world, knowing that God has always and will always use normal people, like you and me, to move mountains, all for His honor and glory.
