Matthew 11:6 “Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of Me.”

While in prison, John hears of the miracles being performed by Jesus and instructs his disciples to go ask Jesus if He is in fact the Messiah John is preparing for. Jesus tells them to report back to John what they have witnessed. Jesus then begins to praise John for his commitment and dedication to the true Messiah.

What We Should Know

John was persistent in assuring that Jesus was in fact the one he was promoting. In spite of all the opposition by Jewish leaders who accused him of being a drunkard and a glutton, John declared Jesus to be the Messiah. Jesus put it simply when he said “But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.” He stood by his word in spite of worldly judgement.
